FALL 2008 IS HERE!!! GET INVOLVED!
Welcome Toreros!
Fall 2008 is quickly approaching, and soon we will be back on campus learning, socializing and making a difference! I want to say welcome back to those who are returning and welcome to those who are starting their first year at our outstanding university.
This coming year is going to blow the rest out of the water! We have a new agenda coupled with the political excitement that is sweeping the nation, USD and Pi Siga Alpha plans to be a big part of students ability to stay interested, informed, and involved.
We will need plenty of help with all the events we have planned and there is opportunity to join the Executive Board and the planning committee this semester. Please consider being a part of PSA, the Chapter meetings and the governing Board as it will prove to be a huge asset to your future.
We have also received news from the National Chapter that for those of you considering working for the government, or who are currently in the military, PSA graduates are now eligible for special ranking upon hiring and graduation(2 additional pay grades!) above other graduates who are not PSA members!! That could propell you ahead of your same class graduates by 2 years.

Also, I am pleased to announce that we are currently in the process of building an official Alumni database only accessible to Pi Sigma Alpha members!! This will be a great asset in your future as we currently have Alumni attending the most prestigious Graduate schools (our former President is now at Harvard Law!!), working in the CIA, FBI, the state department, the pentagon, in all civil service sectors and for many non-profit ventures across the nation and around the globe!
Additionally, the National Chapter has just joined forces with Experience.com to provide a national job database, open only to PSA members!
Each year, the advantages of joining and participating in Pi Sigma Alpha continue to grow and prove that this honor society is the premier choice amongst all University campuses. So take advantage of this unique opportunity to enhance your college experience and degree, build your resume, make connections and learn more than everyone else!! Next Chapter Meeting
ATTENTION PSA!
Our next chapter bi-monthly meeting will be held on Tuesday April 22nd at 12:15pm in IPJ 253 (Map Room).
We will be discussing the end of the semester banquet and a fundraising project that is in the works. Please attend this meeting and show your support for PSA.
For those of you that purchased t-shirts, they will be available at this meeting only.
As the year is drawing to a close, we will be having only 1 more formal meeting, so please come if you have not already.

FUNDRAISER & BANQUET IN THE WORKS
ATTENTION PSA!!
Our annual fundraiser and Banquet are in the works!
Thanks to those who came to the last meeting of members! Those who didn't make it, you missed out!
We have decided on a date for the PSA Student and Professor Banquet!! SAVE THE DATE: The BAQUET will be held on THURSDAY May 1st at 6PM. LOCATION TBA. SO MARK THE CALENDARS!
ALSO we are putting together a fundraiser for our chapter. We need to raise around $100.00 to purchase a PSA banner. So if you have any items we can raffle off for donations, please let PSA Executives know by either coming to the next meeting or an e-mail.

IMMIGRATION DISCUSSION FORUM TONIGHT!
ATTENTION!! TONIGHT IS THE PSA SPONSORED IMMIGRATION DISCUSSION FORUM
Tonight at 7pm in the Institute for Peace & Justices Rotunda Theater, PSA will be hosting along with the Trans-Border Institute, a discussion forum on the issue of IMMIGRATION featuring two faculty professors.
The event is FREE, parking is FREE and Refreshments are provided!!
Please show up early as seating is limited. But please spread the word and make this an event to remember!
